Itinerary

  • Morning: Early pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer to Km 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail. After meeting the trek team and porters, we cross the bridge over the Urubamba River and begin our hike.
  • Trail Highlights: Walk along lush valleys and pass through the ancient ruins of Llactapata, where your guide will share insights into its history as an agricultural center.
  • Evening: Arrive at the first campsite, Wayllabamba (3,000 meters), where you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared Andean meal and rest for the night.
  • Morning: Wake up early for the most challenging day of the trek. Begin the steep ascent to Warmiwañusqa Pass, also known as Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200 meters), the highest point of the trail.
  • Afternoon: Take in spectacular views before descending into the Pacaymayo Valley (3,600 meters), where you’ll camp for the night. This day is physically demanding but immensely rewarding.
  • Morning: Explore the well-preserved ruins of Runkurakay and Sayacmarca as you trek through high cloud forests.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at Wiñay Wayna (Forever Young), one of the most impressive Inca sites, with its cascading terraces and ceremonial fountains. Camp here for your final night on the trail.
  • Early Morning: Start your final stretch to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu at sunrise.
  • Morning: Enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu, learning about its history, architecture, and significance.
  • Afternoon: Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch before taking the train back to Cusco.
